Vacation without worries: how to plan the perfect trip

When vacation time arrives, so does the time to decide where to spend it. Some dream of sun, sea, mountains, and excursions, while others want to ski, try out all the funiculars in the area, and admire sunsets in other countries. A few vacation days will be spent on solving all sorts of everyday problems, so no one will disrupt your ten days of happiness out of a two-week absence from work. And the route should be chosen in advance.

Before more detailed planning, you should decide whether you are taking children with you. This fact is important for several reasons. Remember that a doctor will only give permission for a child to travel abroad if there is no threat to their health there. For example, before traveling to tropical Africa or Southeast Asia, it is necessary to get vaccinated against malaria, and cholera outbreaks are very frequent in India.

Some adults turn a blind eye to the presence of such a health threat, but children need to be taken care of in advance.

There are no fewer dangers in the northern part of Africa, where Russian tourists have become very fond of flying. Children are more sensitive than adults; they need more time to acclimatize, and the trip cannot last forever. As a result, as soon as the child’s body adapts to the hot climate, it’s immediately time to fly back – to the rainy temperate zone. Therefore, we urge you not to experiment with your health, and especially with the health of your children.

Choosing Transportation

This point only applies to places that can be reached by several modes of transport. But let’s try to consider each of them from the perspective of preserving health and good mood.

Airplane

Although airplane tickets are not a cheap pleasure, they allow you to significantly reduce travel time and, accordingly, increase vacation time. You need to remember that luggage has the ability to get lost at the most inopportune moment. Some people may feel unwell during takeoff and ascent, and it is not always possible to walk around the cabin. Moreover, vibrations and noise can depress the central nervous system, which can affect the health of people suffering from cardiovascular diseases.

Train

This type of transport is still chosen by many travelers. Prices are reasonable, but the pleasure of the trip can be spoiled by long stops when crossing borders without the possibility of going out into the fresh air, as well as not always clean restrooms. On the other hand, it is quite possible to lie down, walk around, and even play comfortably with a child, even in a reserved-seat car.

Bus

The limitation of one’s own freedom here is even greater than on an airplane. In addition to perpetually numb arms and legs, the opportunity to walk around the bus is very rare. Many buses are still not equipped with restrooms, so bushes on the highway or, at best, toilets at gas stations and roadside cafes are provided as toilets.

Car

An ideal option for people who prefer active recreation, camping, and campfires. A person starts to relax as soon as they get into the car in their city. Restrictions may be present, but everything mainly depends on the driver’s character. You can stop at every step, or you can calmly and quickly reach your destination.

Summing up, it is worth noting that trains are good for traveling with small children – planes can scare them. There is room for movement on the train, and being in the same car as other babies will only be a plus. For a small group of young and energetic people, a trip by car will be good and informative.

Packing Our Suitcases

It is important not to miss any of the little things that may be needed on the road. Everyone has their own opinion about clothing, but we believe that when going to warm countries, it makes no sense to stock up on a pile of warm clothes. A light windbreaker and a woolen sweater are quite enough in case of rainy weather.

When choosing beachwear, you should be guided by the rule of nature and take things only from natural materials. It will allow the skin to breathe, absorbs sweat well, and will not interfere with the healthy thermoregulation of the body. Light colors are not just fashionable, they are a natural reflector of sunlight, which is important for people who spend most of the year in a temperate climate.

For personal hygiene, do not collect a bunch of jars and tubes – a bottle of shampoo, ordinary toilet soap, and protective sunscreen are enough. It is worth leaving space in your suitcase for a first-aid kit. If you have chronic diseases, consult your doctor about the possibility of exacerbation and select the necessary medications just in case.

If you decide to go by train, stock up on food for the entire trip. Try to choose non-perishable items. Fruits and vegetables will be ideal. No instant pasta or mashed potatoes: a trip for our body is a kind of stress, which in many people can manifest as constipation or diarrhea. Therefore, put an antidiarrheal medicine in the first-aid kit, and a bag of instant porridge in the bag with food.

For small children, you can take jars of baby food that you bought for them for complementary feeding. They are not recommended as the main food, but on the road it is better than some dubious products. Grab a bag of dry cookies, because on the road – in a limited space with a lack of activities – snacks will be much more frequent.

Don’t forget soap, wet wipes, and antibacterial hand gel. Hands should be washed as often as possible: after all, the car, no matter how well it is cleaned by the conductors, is a place where a huge number of microbes and bacteria accumulate.

The “X” Day

On the day of the trip, try not to eat all the food supplies for fear that they will spoil. Try to either plan them, or simply give them to your neighbors or put them near the garbage cans. For breakfast, oatmeal in water, coffee or tea, and a sandwich with butter and cheese are enough. Do not overeat and do not leave the house hungry, because the process of boarding transport is quite tiring and does not exclude feeling unwell.

Check your documents, count your bags and suitcases. Dress simply: no one will pay attention to stilettos and super makeup, but injuries are possible. Moreover, there are sanitary zones on trains, during which the restrooms are closed, and removing makeup will be quite problematic.

And a piece of advice in conclusion: try to foresee every little thing, make a list of essential items, and be healthy. Enjoy your vacation!
